Registered behavior technician (RBT)

Happy Kids Autism Intervention Services does not currently have any RBT positions open.  However, we always  accept resumes for entry level and/or experienced RBTs.  Submitted resumes will remain on file for one year.   Our RBTs are committed to providing our clients with highly individualized, professional treatment based on the scientific principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) utilizing B.F. Skinner's Analysis of Verbal Behavior. As an RBT, you will provide clinical skills instruction and implement behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to individuals with autism and related communication disorders under the direction/supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).  Additionally, as an RBT, you will collect data daily on programs, assist with parent training, and assist BCBA/BCaBA with clinical assessments as needed.  For additional information click on the following link.

​Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma & and must have completed 45 hours of college coursework from an accredited university. 
- Bachelor’s Degree in ABA, behavioral sciences, human development, special education or related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or ability to obtain certification with in 60 days.
- Experience Preferred: Prior experience working with children of all ages in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational, Speech, or Allied Health Services experience 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 therapy within clinic/community/home settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcer and conditioning the value of social interaction.
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as directed by BCBA/BCaBA. Understand the effects consequences have on behavior. Effectively use reinforcement and appropriate extinction procedures to change behavior.
- Prompt safe and socially appropriate acceptable replacement behaviors as defined within client’s individual treatment plan.  
- Fade prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding.
- Accurately collect all session data and complete session notes.  Data measurement may include Antecedent/Behavior/Consequence, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, fluency aims, event recording, permanent products recording, interval-based recording or any other data collection measurement deemed appropriate by BCBA/BCaBA.
- Summarize and report goal plan updates to supervisors. Create and maintain therapy materials as needed.
- Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client dignity and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment. 
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
- Understand and explain emergency action procedures (i.e. seizure action plan, crisis situation plan, etc.)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly. 
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members. 
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board 
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws. 
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard. 
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and supervisor recommendations. 
- Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time. 
- Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as trained and indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior. 
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection. 
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements. 
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication. 
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.

Happy Kids Autism Intervention Services is a locally owned, smaller ABA center. We are entering our 15th year of providing quality behavior analytic services to individuals in the Killeen/Ft. BCBA/BCABA

Conduct 1:1 direct therapy with clients, track data and update on a weekly basis in order to facilitate visual analysis, conduct parent training sessions, assess clients using the VB-MAPP or EFL and work collaboratively with our therapy team to create comprehensive treatment plans.
